Doxycycline 100 mg capsules are antibiotics. It is mainly used to treat lung and genital infections (some genital infections). This medicine can also be used in combination therapy to treat severe acne and prevent malaria.
This drug belongs to a class of drugs called tetracyclines, blocks the production of bacterial proteins, prevents bacterial growth, and is also used to treat bacterial infections, including intestinal infections, skin infections, eye infections, urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, and more.

How to take doxycycline monohydrate 100 mg tablet?
Also tell your doctor if you are taking isotretinoin such as Claravis, Amnescence, or Sotret, or if you are taking anticonvulsants or blood thinners. Best taken by mouth at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals, usually 1-2 times daily on an empty stomach.
It is recommended that you drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine. A rupture in the stomach may make it slightly less effective but taking it with food may help. It is not recommended to lie down for 10 minutes after taking.
Take this medicine 2 to 3 hours before or after eating foods such as antacids, kinapril, didanosine solution, vitamins, minerals, dairy products, and calcium-fortified juices. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.
The dosage is determined by pathology, body weight, age and response to treatment. For best results, take this antibiotic at regular intervals.

Overdose: –
Overdose symptoms include nausea, loss of appetite, and diarrhea. After digestion of the gastrointestinal tract, supportive therapy only. Hypotension may require hydration.
Even if you feel better, take the entire recipe as directed. Avoid alcohol and drink plenty of fluids (take 2-3 liters of fluid per day unless a fluid restriction is indicated).

Common side effects include an increased risk of diarrhea, red rash, nausea, vomiting, flu-like symptoms, skin allergies, and sunburn. Infants and pregnant women may have ongoing problems with tooth and bone development.

Patients should avoid the simultaneous use of:
- CYP3A3/4 enzyme substrate
- Bismuth iron and tea salicylate may reduce the bioavailability of doxycycline 100 mg capsules.
- Barbiturates, phenytoin and carbamazepine shorten the half-life of doxycycline 100 mg capsules
- Warpalin effect increased
Interaction with food: –
Absorption of doxycycline 100 mg capsules may be impaired when taken with iron, calcium, milk, or other dairy products. Foods containing calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, and amino acids should be avoided as they may reduce absorption.
